i’ve been a steeler fan since birth.  actually, in utero, my nickname was tunch, as in tunch ilkin, and upon my birth, my parents were delighted to discover that my head was, in fact, shaped like a football.  since that february day in 1984, i’ve colored on the drapes, learned to ride a bike and received my b.f.a in painting and ceramics from miami university in oxford, ohio.  (they grow up so fast.)  in 2007, i got a post-baccalaureate certificate from the pont-aven school of contemporary art in pont-aven, france.  now, back in the ‘burgh, i have discovered a love for photography and an awesome partner in crime.  which brings us to…

did you ever get dumped by someone you really liked and need something to cheer yourself up? my name is rebecca and about three years ago i bought a camera to replace a boyfriend. i would have never guessed that through that relationship i would find out how much i love taking photos. recently, i resigned from a position at a billion dollar retail company to follow a new path and my passion for photography. i am currently getting my masters in fine art through the academy of art university and working with my good friend laura on our own business. all i know is that i have never been more excited about not knowing what’s ahead.
